Artifacts of Hierapolis, Pamukkale
The museum in Hierapolis antique city keeps several artifacts from 2nd century BC to 7th century AD. Hierapolis Museum was once a 2nd century Roman Bath and gymnasium. It is located on top of Pamukkale travertines, next to antique Cleopatra Pool.
For those who are interested in Roman history, the museum is a must see. There are several artifacts in the museum left from former civilizations which resided in Hierapolis, Laodicea, Colossae, Tripolis and Attuda. Also a section of the museum holds Bronze Age artifacts found in Beycesultan Hoyuk.
If you would like to have better knowledge of the history of ancient Hierapolis, it is recommended to pay a visit to Hierapolis Museum after seeing other important spots including Pamukkale Travertines, Necropolis, St. Philip Martyrium, Domitian Gate and Frontinus Road.
